Meeko had been scratching quite intensly these last few days so I decided to check her for fleas. Sure enough, I found a few hiding in her fur. Disgusted, she immediately got a flea bath. Since she never goes outdoors, we couldn't understand how she got them, but then remembered that she escaped outside one night, when she got into a brawl with the coyote. Since it takes weeks for flea eggs to hatch, we would have never suspected. She hated her flea bath, but I didn't care...fleas are disgusting!
After a few days we checked her again...still more fleas..she got another bath and we got her some Advantage. It seemed to work for a little while, but then they came again.
Finally after sheer frustration and disgust...Meeko paid for it....
WE SHAVED HER!
HA! She looked so funny!
I didn't care how shameful she felt....we bombed the house, shampooed and sprayed the furniture like crazy.
Sure enough...the shaving helped! No more fleas for Meeko!
Now meeko is back to her full fur coat and enjoying her daily brushings from Aleena.
Thank goodness that phase passed. I was about to move out of my house and get rid of the cat forever!
Aleena wouldn't allow that though.
