In Memory of Avalon

In July 2009, Shelby and Ed suffered a loss that no one should ever have to suffer. As some of you may recall, Shelby was 5 days overdue when she started feeling those contractions that prompts any parent to be in a state of bliss knowing that they day has finally come to meet thier new baby.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Their family arrived and contractions were consistent. They arrived at the hospital and were informed of their fate. No heartbeat. Baby Avalon passed sometime between the night before or during that day. With no way to turn back, Shelby had to deliver her stillborn baby. She had a brief moment with her precious Avalon. They embraced her, and cherished her, and memorized all of her beautiful features. They said goodbye, before ever saying hello.
This is one of the most touching pictures Shelby posted on her facebook page.
I love it so much, I just had to have it on my blog to cherish the impact that Avalon had on their life and my life.
Avalon, even in memory, your shoes will be very hard to fill!
