16 YEARS ~ CELEBRATING CHICAGO STYLE!

It is amazing how time flies! 16 years ago today (4/9/94), Matt dropped me off from a night of rollerskating at the rollerskating rink on base (Travis AFB) and asked me to prom. Of course I said YES...he was one of my best friends...and he was HOT! That same night we shared our first kiss and he asked me to be his girlfriend. We have been stuck together ever since. It has been so incredibly amazing experiencing life with Matt. Now we have little Aleena to share the journey with us.

I never would have thought that at 16, I would meet the person I would share the rest of my life with. Now 16 years later, I am so grateful for all the what if's that didn't happen.
* What if my dad would have gone to Desert Storm versus being transferred to California?
* What if I hadn't switched high schools from Will C Wood to Vanden mid semester?
* What if Keith would have said yes?
* What if Michelle would have said no?
(Those who know understand)
What if ..What if..What if...
As Rascall Flatts says.."God bless the broken road that led me straight to you!" LOL...how broken could it be at 16 I ask you?!?!? But you all know what I mean.
Here's to celebrating tonight, with an old tradition...Chicago! But first..dinner on the Riverwalk
We ate at Monticello's restaurant briefly with James and Mickey just before the show
We then headed off to the Majestic Theater where Chicago was playing.
It is such a beautiful theater!

Matt was so excited...we just had to take this picture. It's for Mel Brooks The Young Frankenstein Broadway show, playing in a few months also at the Majestic.... I surprised him with tickets since I know that this is one of his favorite movies! He can't wait to see the broadway show to see if it does the movie justice!
Waiting for the show to start!
Woo hoo...CHICAGO!

Here are a few snippets I snapped..we weren't supposed to be recording...oops! I couldn't resist!
Saturday in the Park:
You're the Inspiration
Then Along Comes a Woman:
Drum encore..totally awesome..this was the tail end of it:
They did 2 encores because the crowd refused to leave. I've always seen 1 encore..never 2! I was very excited that they did!
We had this picture taken in the theater....as you will see below..it has a purpose and memories attached to it!
Afterwards, we met up with James and Mickey again on the riverwalk. Matty and I shared this yummy apple crisp desert while we hung out on the patio of the Hard Rock cafe.
We then cruised the Alamo since Mickey had never seen it before. It is so beautiful at night.
Matty and I went to a Chicago concert back in April 1998 at the Concord Pavillion....here are a few pics that I found and scanned in (back then, there were no digital photos) LOL...
After the Chicago concert, we stopped off at a bridge in Concord and took a few pics. We jokingly took the one with Matt sitting on my lap. So...why not do it again to seal the memory!
THEN AND NOW~

I love you Matty!
Today marks exactly 1/2 of my life that I have spent with you. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you.
