Aleena and I left the house pretty late. So we were just barely going to make the 3:00 kiddie egg hunt. Poor baby hadn't taken a nap and fell asleep just before we arrived. So I had to wake her up and she was a bit groggy. The egg hunt began immediately at 3:00 and we arrived at 2:55...(so like me). Matt did not join us as he was diligently working on a project..which I will share later.
The eggs were laid out for the kiddos~
Austin helping Aleena
The kids lining up for their main event!
Isn't this just a precious picture? I love it! Semi biased..
Mona's Aunt Sel was so excited..you can hear her yelling in the background at the kids..she had me laughing! I think she was more excited than the kids!
Aleena and baby Ashlyn....so precious!
This is the beautiful basket that Mona got Aleena..complete with her name! Thank you so much Mona! WE LOVE IT and we will use it for years to come!
Aleena delivered her chocolate goodies to her friends..they were so cute giving hugs to one another. Here's Aleena and Gavin
Across the road, the property owner has horses running in an open field. Aleena of course wanted to visit with them. We watched the horses run and prance for a while...it was so relaxing!
We went back to play with the kids and Aleena, Andrew and Austin were jumping on the trampoline.
While Aleena and I were playing... Mona was setting up the field for the ADULT EGG HUNT!
This is an extremely interactive event where most of the adults participated. Everyone has a $10 buy in and it is every man out for themselves to see who can get the most eggs to get the most $. We had such a blast!
The field with over 1,000 easter eggs! OUT OF CONTROL is an understatement..LOL
Everyone has their big buckets ready to collect as many eggs..notice everyone has running shoes.. I of course was not..big mistake I learned afterwards!
@*@*@* I CURRENTLY DO NOT HAVE VIDEO OF THE EGG HUNT (AS I WAS BUSY RUNNING AROUND LIKE A CRAZY WOMAN), BUT WILL GET IT...I WAS ADVISED IT WILL BE ON U-TUBE SHORTLY..AS SOON AS IT IS AVAILABLE..I WILL POST HERE. @*@@*
The egg hunt was done in about 4 minutes. When everyone took off. I stayed behind to get the eggs closest to me. Before I knew it my bucket was full...I was tossed a couple bags and I continued on..Aleena ran out in the field and came to help. Here's a picture of how many eggs I collected.
Aleena helped me open each egg...some of them were empty..but most of them had little papers inside w/ a dollar amount.. cha ching! The money ranged from $0.25 to $5.00. One of the grandparents hid an egg w/ his grandsons name in it, Gavin...if you found this egg..you won $50 bucks! Woo hoo.
My winnings.... By the time we counted all of the papers..I won $18.50!! Woo hoo!!
This was a totally fun experience! I can't wait to do it again next year! Thanks to the Mona's family. They have always received us well and we always enjoy our visit in Yancey!
After the madness of the egg hunt. We relaxed with some more playtime. Here's Aleena and Isabella swinging on swings.
Austin was helping Aleena play baseball. He is such a great kid..Aleena really loves him. He is such a great older brother to his sister Ashlyn...so sweet! I love the Gauna family!
She even played a little soccer...this is for you Godsister Angel. ;P
The time to say goodbye came quick...the time flew by. Besitos from Isabella!
Aleena and I would like to extend a very personal and sincere thank you to the Gauna family and the extended family. We absolutely enjoyed ourselved. Yancey is such a peaceful and tranquil place with open land and fresh air. I can't help but to slow down when I am there. The company is fabulous as always. Thank you again for inviting us to your special family Easter celebration! Love you guys!
